Although, the newly 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350 already has its premiere, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, this isn’t the end of the road regarding the usage of the mighty new Mustang platform. It remained that its sibling, which is going to be more potent- GT350R, to see its daylight, too. It is planned to happen in the January of 2016 at Detroit Auto Show. Both of these two lovable models, are being made on a genuine idea of the well-known American designer, Carroll Shelby, who originally created them. According his ideas these two variants suffered slightly refreshments and modifications. But, both of models remained fateful to its genuine models. The producing of the Shelby GT350R is extremely limited and has been produced for competition usages, only. This variant is widely known as a much more potent, than its sibling, but in addition it is lighter too, thanks to its fiberglass body panelsand Plexiglass windows.
2016 Mustang Shelby GT350R Engine
The R variant will keep all the features that make the GT350 such a stunning car, but, at the same time, strives to eliminate absolutely everything that is unnecessary. That, practically, means that the R variant will retain the flat-crank 5.2-liter V-8 powertrain option, which has proven its reliability and durability. That engine proved that is more than able to pump up to 500 horsepower and to deliver approximately 400 lb-ft of torque, at the same time. But, additional engine, which is specially developed for this brand new variant, is an electronic one- the adaptive MagneRide suspension. This engine option is planned to come along with a track-oriented programming.
New GT350R Design
The entire bodywork of 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350R presents an optimized version of the basic GT350’s. In fact, everything remains the same as a basic GT350’s, except the headlamps, which have been placed about an inch lower than its sibling. In order to maximize downforce, the folks from Ford’s have decided that the GT350R variant gets a slightly revised front splitter, which will be combined with a huge carbon-fiber rear wing. The engineers did that in order to move the center of pressure rearward and, at the same time, to boost the balance between downforce and lift.
Regarding some pretty notable refreshing exterior wise, the R variant has all been painted in vivid red. By saying that, we didn’t mean the whole of the vehicle, just the stripes and the brake calipers. Because, the vivid red is racy-kind of-a-color, right? In order to circle, in a way, that “racy” look the GT350R has been equipped with a specially designed carbon-fiber light wheels, which present the real rarity, even among the exotic supercars. In addition to all that, these wheels came wrapped in hyper-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires alongwith a rubber compound and construction unique to the GT350R! What an exclusivity, don’t you think the same?
